Karen R. Barnes, affectionately known as “Nana” was born on January 28, 1956 to the late Betty and Marvin Barnes in Cleveland, Ohio.

Karen R. Barnes, affectionately known as “Nana” was born on January 28, 1956 to the late Betty and Marvin Barnes in Cleveland, Ohio. One son, Andre T. Parker Sr. precedes her in death.
She attended John F. Kennedy, where she obtained her high school diploma. She married Eddie L. Parker Jr. in Detroit, Michigan in 1975 where she gave birth to three beautiful children and became a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.
She returned to Cleveland, Ohio in 1991 where she remained a wonderful and devoted mother, up until the Lord called her home on August 16, 2011 at 2:10 pm.
She leaves to cherish her memory and legacy: two children, Nicole Parker and Eddie Parker III of Cleveland, Ohio; ten grandchildren, La’Rissa, Lawrence Harris, Marvin Harris, My’Esha, Eddie Parker IV, Niah (Choppers) Parker, DeAundra Toland, Andre Jr., Ashanti Parker, Amya (Buttons) Parker; two sisters, Gail Kendricks and Debra Odem; uncles and aunts, Melvin & Belinda Barnes, Billie & Lillie Barnes, Alford and Jacki Barnes, Frankie and Charmaine Barnes, Ronnie Barnes, Alford and Catherine Parish Sr., Sharon Tinsley and Patricia Hall; nieces and nephews, Releana & Marvin Descott Sr.; great nieces and nephews, James Descott, Marvin Descott III, Saleem Odem and Samar Odem and a host of family and friends.
